Lady Clarabel Cowbaby by Midwest; Callname: Dairy Girl

Born of Satinka, Sired by Rufus

Bred, born and raised here at Midwest Chihauhuas

Dairy's Biography

Like any good present, our Dairy Girl is full of surprises!  When born she had a pink nose with a couple blackish spots on it, we called her a black and white.  She was named Clarabel after the classic Disney cow by Charlotte and boy were we all surprised when she didn't turn out black at all, but a dark merle!  This color change was not outwardly apparent until she began to blow her lovely long puppy coat to start to regrow her adult long coat.  That was when it became obvious that her limited black spots were not plain black at all but a beautiful black merle (hidden)!  As her adult coat has grown in, her merle pattern is again impossible to see, but it is there in color and DNA.  After a considerable amount of time without any noticable growth, I am glad to say that Dairy Girl is getting to be stockier than her brother!  A good thing too as a girl as small as Mason will likely turn out would NEVER be bred her at Midwest.  Now that she has matured, she is just under 8 inches at the withers and weighs nearly 5 cobby pounds. She has a beautiful round applehead and wonderful stop!  Born on April 15th and just three minutes younger than Mason, Dairy Girl will breed for us at Midwest in February of 2010 when nearly 2 years old for her first litter.

Dairy was exposed to outside stud "Cheech" by TL Cuties.  If breeding took place, litter is due on or about April 13, 2010.

Dairy's Personality

Dairy has a sweet and lovable personality.  She loves to run and play.  She is a particular fan of the snow (unlike most Chihuahuas) and can be seen racing around the backyard, sometimes running from and other times chasing her littermate brother Mason.

One on One with Dairy Girl

When it is time to spend some one on one time with the family, Dairy girl will choose me over Dennis (my husband) and lay right with me on the couch.  She likes to give kisses if she can get you to let her, she will lick your face, hand, anything.  Our dogs are lickers. :)  Dairy is affectionate but not at all pushy about getting the lead spot with all the dogs, she is happy to just be in the mix.

Dairy's Breeding Future

Breeding has been attempted with our little Dairy Girl.  She is now 22 months old and was left alone together during her heat period with TL Cuties' beautiful stud, Cheech.  This handsome male is solid golden fawn and we will be watching for fawn/hidden merles as well as other colors. Cheech stands in at 8 inches and 5 lbs.  He is a very typey, cobby male. AKC/CKC registered male who is used to being a pet first (no puppy mills or mass breeders allowed here!) and has a solid, happy temperment.

If this time together took, Dairy will be pregnant on or about April 15th, 2010
