Well Socialized

Rufus can and will get along with everyone!  Just check out the brood he is Alpha to!  Rufus is a loving adorable dog who quietly rules the roost of creatures big and small!  Here's proof! 

We are a home of multiple four leggers!  Aside from the chihuahuas, we are also blessed to have our lab and english bulldog (see our Guardians page) and a couple cats!  Strangely enough, everyone gets along well here and all are free to roam around the house!


Using Rufus as your Outside Stud

Rufus Health: patella's clear - OFA excellent; eyes clear; heart clear; no merle factor; Brucellosis negative

Potential Bitches: Indoor preferred (others on case by case basis), patella's clear (OFA preferred but not required); Brucellosis negative

Stud Fee: $500.00 (or pick of the litter from approved female); Live Pup Guarantee. **Due to the Economic struggle facing so many of us right now, we are reducing Rufus' stud fee temporarily to $350.00 or pick of the litter from approved female.

-Colors produced include chocolate with white markings, black tri spotted on white, black spotted on white

Bred to Satinka (smoothcoat black merle 5.5#); 2 males, 3 females

-Colors produced include chocolate merle, red merle, black spotted on white

Bred to Ginger (solid red brindle female 5.5#); 3 males, 2 females

-Colors produced include chocolate tri-color, reverse chocolate brindle, blue fawn on white, black on white, solid black with brindle points

-Puppies to mature from 3-4.5# mature, very short and cobby litter

Bred to Zoe (chocolate LC female, outside mating, 4#); 2 male puppies

King Rufus of Reece's Pieces aka Rufus is our primary stud here at Midwest Chihuahuas.  Rufus is a beautiful, stunning boy, so small and with such a perfect applehead.  He is my most loving pet and friend and has been a wonderful dad to some truly nice puppies. Rufus is on his 17th litter (although primarily to outside females)!  He has a beautiful chocolate tri coat.  He has a dense double long coat.

**Rufus is joined in stud service by his merle longcoat son Mason who was born off Satinka as well as his son Rajesh (Certified Service Animal) who was born off Jezebel (retired and working as a therapy dog).  Rufus is retiring in February of 2012 and will be staying at Midwest Chihuahuas for life.

Rufus' Information

Rufus is full grown (born 06-22-2005) and is out of a wonderful large (now retired) breeder in lower Alabama.  Daddy was mature at UNDER 3#!  Mom weighed just over 3.5#.  Rufus' three generation pedigree carries ALL long coated chihuahuas.  Rufus has produced a myriad of colors in the litters he has sired.    He has a TINY apple head and short stature (6.75 inches at the withers). His current weight is 3 lbs and 10 ounces and he is (admittedly) overweight slightly at this point but he is getting older.  Temperment wise, Rufus is a lover.  He is CKC registered and available for stud service (with contract) to approved females. Rufus has bred with small females and so far we have had no complications.
